Commenting on Ah Wei's 2 Different MEs
Actually I don't find the difference. May be it's because I never really meet her so often in real life to find out the difference, and I first know her on the internet. However, to me, she sounds (behaviour) quite consistent throughout the years of knowing her, even during gatherings when I got to talk to her.

What is so interesting about Korean drama?
It seems that everyone's crazy about Korean shows. My sister has been watching the VCD since she finishes her exam, stay up all night, even more hard working than exam period. My flatmate is worse, I think she didn't sleep last night, I can hear noises from the TV in her room the whole night. I can't sleep because of the mosquitoes, which invaded my room last night. Zooming around my ears, and having feast on my arms and legs, what a terrible night !

Finally finish my exam, one source of stress down. Still finding it a bit hard to cope with the oncoming events, lots of gatherings with friends before I leave. I have 2 parties to attend tomorrow, almost at the same time and different place, I really wonder how I can deal with it and no disappoint anybody, a bit hard... *sigh*
The adoptor of my notebook seems to be spoilt last night when I want to turn it on, which means that I can't use my notebook anymore, no dial-up internet from home ! So troublesome, as I'll need to use the uni computer to check e-mail.

Movie: The Ring (U.S. Version)
Wasn't too keen to watch movie yesterday as I was quite tired after going to the NSW Art Gallery, but my friend instead watching a movie, nothing really interesting showing now as all the block busters will only be out after next week. The cinema was showing, I was quite curious to see how this U.S. version looks like.
The story is about 80% similar to that of the original Japanese movie, there's changes in some part of the story line, esp. after the reporter arriving on the island. But generally, I already know which part will be scary, so, I usually sleep thro' the boring parts. My attention was draw to the audiences, the Ang Mo who hasn't seen the movie at all. Some really screamed during the sudden scary parts. Quite funny to see their expressions, hee hee
The production is much better this time, but sstory wise, doesn't really make sense in many ways and it got more confusing in the later part. Also at the beginning of the movie when the 2 gals talking about the video tap looks quite weird.
One of the big different from the original movie is that the little girl (who made the cursed tape) look so cute, just like a doll, like one of those evil dolls in the usual horror story.

Study Week
It's Friday, end of the one week study break before the beginning of exams. I only started my revision today. What have I done for the past week ? Going out with friends, enjoying, having some fun, and doing a bit of my final assignment, which I've completed yesterday.
After realising that I'm really having too much fun, I decide to settle down and start my reivision. As usual, overslept today, I didn't managed to find a good spot in the library until 2pm.
Flip thro' my notes to see what will be tested. Four topics: Bahavourial Fianance, Managed Funds & Performance, Momentum, Trading Cost. I decide to start on the first topic. It is really hard to start the engine, I spent the first hour reading only 2 pages of reasech materials. Couldn't keep my concentration on the paper, only read a couple of pages more before I decided to call it a day at 4pm.
When I about to leave the library, received an sms from a friend to have coffee, went home at 5pm. That's all for the first day of my revision.

ATTN: You-Know-Who-You-Are,
Plesse don't knock at my door tonight, even though you may have hundreds of unsolved questions to ask me. I need an undivided attention for my assignment, which I need to hand in tomorrow. To compensate for your boredom, please help yourself with the tube of yogurt in the freezer (it's vv yummy, you should try it !). Also, in case you are still bored, you can find a square black box in your room next to the window, switch it on, turn to Channel 10, it's showing Law & Order tonight.
I wish you an enjoyable evening. Your co-operation is very much appreciated.
Regards,
YY

Someone Burnt My Soup!!!
I smelt of something burnt coming from the kitchen this evening, and realized that it was my soup that got burnt. Someone has turned on the heat of the stove where I put my pot of soup ! I don't remember I've left the soup boiling unattended since afternoon, it would be burnt long time before then as there's only a little water left

Who is the culprit ?? It must be someone who cooked dinner after me. Who else but J. He must had accidentally turn it on when he uses the oven..
Damage: Lots of effect in scrubbing the chacoal black burnt off the melt pot ! And as usual, J laughed at my misery again... *sob sob sob*

Stupid Fund Manager Tricks: Investors Beware
A very interesting article I've read from TheStreet.Com, about some dirty tricks fund managers use to boost their performance. I'll probably need to use those if I ever become one for surviving the job :P

Monday Boredom
Monday evening always has the most boring TV programs. Really nothing interesting that would make me even to keep the TV on. I guess it's the best day of the week to concentrate on my study.

Students Beware
Just got an email from friend telling me that a student was robbed by someone driving a car with gun pointing at her near the Uni. There has been a lot of cases of robbery, but I seldom hear incidents of gun robbery.

Thinking of the Day
Something really occupies my mind today. I find it really amazing that some people are really thick-skinned. They can complete forget about one's existence for a prolonged period of time. And suddenly, one day, realise the potential usuage / importance, become so kind that really make me sick.
However, after thinking about it again. I can't help but really have a good laugh at them... They are sooooo pathetic !

Things You Would Never Know Without Chinese Swordsman Movies
Thanks Linda for e-mailing this to me!
1. Being the hero's parents will always be unlucky and will usually be killed by enemies when the hero is young, and the hero will orphan.
2. When a man is wounded and dying, he always manage to catch his breath and speak a few sentences to reveal the killer before dropping his head and declared dead.
3. Skilled people are able to fly over roof tops, up trees and across distances without any sweat. But when travelling to towns and villages, they still have to walk or ride horses.
4. The heroes need not have to work for money, but will always have golds and silvers with them to pay for their dishes.
5. The heroes and villains will meet each other very often no matter how big the country is and no matter where they are.
6. Healing internal wounds in the body is as easy as sitting down cross-legged, palms on the knees and smoke coming out from the head.
7. They can keep a lot of stuff in their sleeves and waistband and never drop them (carrying especially lots of those gold and silver ingots)

Things You Never Know About Indian Movies
I think some of your already know, but I still find it quite enjoyable to read...
1. A man will show no pain while taking the most ferocious beating but will wince when a woman tries to cleanse his wounds.
2. The hero cannot fall in love with the heroine(vice versa) unless they first perform a dance number in the rain.
3. Once applied, make-up is permanent, in rain or in any other situation.
4. Two lovers can be dancing in the field and out of nowhere, 100 people will appear from god-knows-where and joins them in the dance.
5. In the final scene, the hero will discover that the bad guy who he is up against is actually his brother and the maid who looked after him is his mother and the chief inspector is his father and the Judge is his uncle and so forth.
6. Key English words used in the movie (usually said out loud Between sentences) are No Problem!, My God!, Get Out!, Shut-up!, Impossible!, please forgive me!
7.They drop down on grounds and roll and roll while singing and come out with different clothings.
8.They can run around the coconut trees, singing, battling eyes-lid, and throwing glances at each other and change clothes all at the same time without being out of breath.

The Weather
It starts to feel like summer now, at least for these few days. The temperature goes up the 30s, even the wind is also warm, and I don't need to wear a jumper in the evening. It's quite a nice weather to stay at home, and do some readings...

Just talking to my friend on the telephone, and find out that he has finished most of my mentioned-below assignment, all the programming parts and writing the essay now. * Gasp * Jaw dropped * Stunned * ARRghhhhh!!!! * Pulling my hair out * I'm sooooo slow, only at the research stage for my essay! Programming ? Haven't even looked at the questions yet, and actually planning to copy from others. * Stressed *
Nevermind, [telling myself] that guy is well-known to be super efficient in his work, I'm not that lagged behind, still got 3 weeks before the deadline. There's still people who haven't started on it. * Take a deep breath * Try to stay clam * Open the notes again * The brain goes blank *...

Last Week of Lecture
Went for the last lecture of my only examable subject today. The lecturer was so kind to give us the best exam tips that I've ever got during the whole postgrad course. Telling us quite which topics we are suppose to know for exam, unlike other lecturers who would just tell us to study all that's thaught. It's so cool that I get to skip the last topic and the second topic, which consist of 50 pages of research each!

Last Assignment of My Course
Got my last assignment for the whole of my postgrad course last week. I didn't take a look at the paper until today. I have been playing too much, should settle down to do my work.
The first part is to write an essay to Discuss the Historical Performance of Actively Managed Mutual Fund and Its Relation to the Concept of Rational Market. It sounds really deep, and the reference article given by the lecturer is not really helpful, need to look up the Internet for more relevent papers.
The second and third parts of the assignment is, as usual, programming stuffs and analysis of the results. I haven't been paying attention during the programming lecture, so have to get help from other classmates...
Anyway, the assignment is due end of the month, still have plenty of time to do it :-)

Movie Comment: "The Transporter"
If you haven't watched the show, one advice: DON'T WATCH IT !
It's like a typical 80s kind of action movie, a can't be more simplified story line. The good guy will never die, and the bad guys all have the "I am the bad guy" face, the police are a bunch of useless idiots...
