"Mr. Dumpling's Friendship Evaluation"

Inspired by that article, here's my comments on Networking:

>> pretend to be a long time friend of someone you only meet for the first time

>> suddenly (without prior notice) pop by at someone's door to request for help (in an aggressvie way) and persistently harassing that person until the requested help is given (eg. 10 e-mail a day, phone calls, etc)

>> put extra effort into knowing people who seem/likely to have some kind of power, status, wealth or wider network

>> never forget to make "friends" at any time and any place

>> pretend to be nice to people and always offer help (but do not deliever to any un-valuable persons)

>> organise big party / gathering to let people know that he/she has got lots of "friends"

>> let other people know that he/she is a good friend of XYZ when he/she hardly know the person

>> make appearance at every / any events / gatherings / parties, even he/she is not invited

>> no time should be spent on maintaining relationship with people who he/she does not consider to be of some kind of use (present or future).

>> Action is taken immediately to resume relationship with anyone if certain importance is discovered, eg. suddenly pop by at someone's door with presents / gifts without prior notice (for more important persons), send greeting e-mail (less important persons)

Conclusion
I don't mind people who want to know me on a pure networking basis or a business relationship. Afterall, networking is a very important tool in the business world. However, please DO NOT invade into my social and private life. I am pissed someone who pretends to be a friend of mine (in front of other people) when she is not.
